Not expandable.....don't buy
I bought this thinking I could buy different attachments without having to buy an entire additional tool. I was wrong and Ryobi's customer service was not helpful. Kept telling I had to buy an entire tool. I'm going to another brand.

Great workhorse, missed opportunities
I was very surprised how long a 6Ah/40V battery lasted in this. Took down a dead Austrian pine over the weekend. Only briefly switched to a 4Ah spare to finish up with some of the chopping to smaller pieces, I suspect if I didn't just mow with same 6Ah it would've done the complete job.
Not a perfect unit however:
Towards the end I wanted to use the pole saw more as a saw, but the saw end and the battery end will not connect together by themselves, they always require at least one extension to be present between them.
The oil lubrication reservoir leaks constantly, whether in use or not, you don't want to store it with oil inside.
I seem to recall the unit coming with an Allen Wrench (one end being a flat head bit to adjust tension, the other end being 'allen' to remove the tension cover), but I can't seem to find it at the moment because apparently it was too difficult to include a proper storage area on the plastic to keep the tool secured in.

Plenty of power!
We bought this to assist in removing a large Palo Verde tree. It took the whole thing down in one charge. Easy to use, lightweight and has plenty of power.

Extendable pole saw from
Ryobi extendable saw
The pole saw is very convenient in that it disassembles for easy storage and transport. It worked very well for trimming high branches. Definitely beats a ladder or climbing in the tree. There could be a little more weight in the back near the battery to counterbalance it a little more but otherwise a nice tool. Instant power. Beats the gas powered ones. Just wish I could buy independent extensions to be able to reach a little further. Say to maybe 20’.

Love the utility
I bought this kit at the same time as a string trimmer and both are great tools. Plenty of power and the battery lasts till the job is done. It’s easy and quick to swap between the tools.
